Having looked at the nature, principles and six-step structure of mediation we are now in a position to consider how this unique intervention differs from other forms of conflict resolution. Conflict resolution is a vast subject and covers areas as diverse as international conflict, labour and industrial disputes, community conflicts and cultural integration, domestic, marital and family court mediations and of course the subject of this book: workplace mediation.
Although these wider contexts are not directly relevant to our present investigation, it may be useful at this point to review some of the common principles of conflict resolution and also to situate mediation ...
