Chapter 10. Application Monitor and CICS

In this chapter we discus how to analyze a CICS transaction using option 1 (Select an Active

Job to analyze) and option 5 (Analyze Historical Data). We do not spend much effort on the

things that are common to Application Monitor in any environment, but rather focus on the

differences involved in using Application Monitor in a CICS environment.

Conventions used

For the purposes of this chapter, all examples use product provided procs and utilities, and

we assume that they are properly customized. It is also assumed that Application Monitor is

properly installed and is available.
