I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Hierarchical navigation menus with <amp-sidebar> and <amp-accordion>
Earlier, we saw how to use amp-accordion. Let's combine this with amp-sidebar to make a hierarchical sidebar menu. This would be useful for any site with a hierarchical information architecture, or with a content structure made of categories or tags, or with a multi-tiered sitemap, to give a few examples.
Recall that our sidebar items were simply li list items. We'll get our hierarchical menu to work like this:
- Any childless item (that is, has no sub-items) will remain as <li><a href="#">item</a></li>.
- Any item with children will be represented with an amp-accordion element within the li element. The menu item text for these items will now be the accordion section header, ...
