Contributing
AMP is an open source project, hosted on GitHub, although, ultimately, design decisions are approved by the AMP project team, which is mostly made up of Google employees. However, the team is extremely receptive and responsive to feedback. Where functionality is lacking, users are encouraged to make feature requests. You can open issues directly on the project page and someone from the AMP team normally responds within hours. Perhaps conscious of the perception that it is a Google project, the project is open to new contributors and members.
