So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL TEAM GOAL/ROLE CLARIFICATION PROCESS
PREWORK ASSIGNMENT
Everyone come prepared to write on a flipchart:
- What are my top two or three goals?
- What is my role to achieve these goals?
- What is needed from others for me to accomplish these goals in my role?
DAY OF SESSION
Ensure everyone has completed the prework assignment.
Materials
Give each member of the team (or function) colored sticky notes—each team member has a different color.
Purpose
To clarify individual roles and share expectations of each other across functions (or within existing teams).
Timekeeper
Ask for a time keeper to limit each person to 10–15 minutes, depending upon the number of team members.
