Using the Eraser Tool

One way to remove part of an object is to use the Shape Tool to cut or delete nodes. Another is to use the Eraser Tool. With a swipe of the Eraser Tool, you can selectively erase parts of an object—just as you can when editing a bitmap photo with an image-editing program.

To erase part of an object:
