Grids (Figure 9.13) are extremely useful for creating precise drawings, such as flowcharts, office layouts, blueprints, and anything else that requires straight lines, uniform shapes, and exact alignment. The grid dots or lines are non-printing.
Choose View > Grid and Ruler Setup. or Right-click a ruler and choose Grid Setup from the pop-up menu that appears. The Grid section of the Options dialog box appears.
There are two ways to create a grid. Click the appropriate radio button and then set options, as follows:
