It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Management used to be about making things happen through other people. In the twenty-first century, management has become more interesting and more challenging. It is now about making things happen through people you do not control, and you may not even like. In the old world, managers controlled the resources they needed to make things happen.
