A.5 Other RAS enhancements
Automatic Support Element switchover
Every z900 server includes a standard second Support Element (SE) that serves as a backup
for the primary SE. The alternate SE is a mirrored copy of the primary SE. Its function is
continuously checked. In case of a malfunction of the primary SE, the system automatically
attempts a switchover to the alternate SE.

Power Service and Control Network (PSCN)
The z900 Support Elements communicate with each other and control the CPC through two
independent, redundant internal Ethernet LANs. This network is the PSCN.
