Dual Cryptographic Coprocessors
All z900 models have a standard Cryptographic Coprocessor Feature (CCF), provided by
dual Cryptographic Coprocessors. The Cryptographic Element (CE) chips use CMOS 7S
technology and, as for PCI Cryptographic Coprocessors and PCI Cryptographic Accelerators,
use 64-bit operands and general registers for all crypto coprocessor instructions.
Different from 9672 G5/G6 servers, the CE chips have been moved from the MultiChip
Module (MCM) to the Single-Chip Modules (SCMs) located on the rear CPC cage. Both CEs
