It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Support elements to CPC interface
In previous S/390 and zSeries servers (G6 and earlier servers), the SEs communicated with
the CPC using a single connection from the SE’s parallel port to the CPC’s UPC card.
This has been completely changed for the z900 servers. For enhanced reliability the z900
server SEs communicate with the CPC and with each other through two independent,
redundant internal Ethernet networks known as the Power Service and Control Network
