STI-M creates four secondary STI links, which are connected to the I/O cards through the FC
2023 cage board. The speed of the secondary link is determined by the feature card it is
attached to. The speeds are either 333 MB/s for FICON, FICON Express, ESCON-16,
OSA-E, PCICC and PCICA, or 500 MB/s for ISC-3.
Depending on the number of I/O slots plugged into the cage, there may be from one to seven
STI-M cards plugged into a zSeries I/O cage FC 2023.
The STI-M card can be installed or replaced concurrently.
