B.3 HMC to SE connectivity
A local Hardware Management Console must be connected to the Support Elements using a
LAN. The z900 servers provide both Token Ring and Ethernet options for HMC and SE LAN
connections.
Each SE can be connected to HMCs via two different customer LANs.
Local HMC to SE communication for the z900 server requires NetBios and either SNA or
TCP/IP protocols for communication with the SEs. At least one local HMC supporting this
