Receive connectors are created on a per server basis. In step 2, we used the New-ReceiveConnector cmdlet to create a receive connector on the EX2 server that will be used to accept messages from a remote SMTP server in the perimeter network. You can see that we configured the connector so that the EX2 server is listening on the IP address 192.168.1.245 on TCP port 25 for incoming messages. Based on the RemoteIPRanges and PermissionGroups parameters, any host in the 172.16.23.0/24 subnet will be able to make an unauthenticated connection to EX2 and submit messages to any recipient within the organization.
