The Exchange Management Shell allows you to configure some DAG properties that are not available in the EAC. Some of these include the DAG IP addresses (when used), the TCP port used for replication, and the network encryption and compression settings.
DAGs support the use of encryption by leveraging the encryption capabilities of Windows Server. DAGs use Kerberos authentication between Exchange servers and its Security Support Provider (SSP) EncryptMessage and DecryptMessage APIs to handle encryption and decryption of DAG network traffic.
