I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Getting ready
- Obtain a sharp definition of the goal of the optimization or the problem being resolved. For example, is the intent to reduce the size of the overall dataset such that more data can be loaded while remaining under 1 GB? Alternatively, is the goal to make the dataset easier to manage and less error prone during refresh, or is it to improve the query performance experienced with Power BI reports?
- Document the current state or baseline, such as query duration, to evaluate the effectiveness of the modifications.
