Installing SQL Server 2005
Once you’ve completed the preinstallation planning and have all the required information available, you are ready to install SQL Server 2005. SQL Server 2005 can be installed on your local server using either the SQL Server 2005 Installation Wizard or the command prompt installation. If you’re new to SQL Server or plan to install just a couple of servers, I recommend you use the Installation Wizard. The command prompt-based installation is often slightly trickier and better suited to experienced users who need to perform multiple similar installations and want to automate the process.
