Replication is made up of the replication data as well as the processes, or agents, that actually execute the replication functions. These components are what makes replication function so well. In this section, we will examine the various components that make up replication.
The replicated data is made up of collections of articles known as publications. These articles can be tables, subsets of rows, subsets of columns, or even stored procedures.
