I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Configuring Replication
Replication is configured from SQL Server Management Studio. There are several major steps that must be followed in order to configure replication. These steps are:
Configure the distributor
Configure the publication
Configure one or more subscribers
Without a distributor, you cannot configure replication. The distributor can be on the same system as the publisher, the same system as the subscriber, or on its own system. Let’s look at these steps in some detail.
Configure the Distributor
The distributor is configured from SQL Server Management Studio:
In Object Explorer view, connect to the server instance of your choice, and then expand the server’s Databases folder.
In the navigation pane, right-click Replication and select Configure ...
