It is my opinion and observation that malicious drivers will become more and more of an issue in the coming years. The authors of malicious Windows programs (Trojans/viruses/worms/and so on) have been getting more and more talented and sophisticated in recent years. They are learning the system.
At the same time, Windows NT/2000 market share is increasing. More and more NT/2000 boxes are directly connected to the Internet. Many are administered by people who are not seasoned IT professionals. This makes for a dangerous combination.
