Enabling Cryptography in Your Applications

The CryptoAPI contains a huge number of cryptography functions, so I cannot discuss even a small part of them here. To simplify the navigation through these functions, the CryptoAPI is divided into several functional areas. Each contains functions performing similar operations, such as functions that work with digital certificates or functions that operate with messages.

CryptoAPI Functional Areas

CryptoAPI v.2.0 has five functional areas. For details on each functional area and any function in particular, refer to the MSDN Library or any related documentation provided by Microsoft. The following list outlines the functional areas according to the MSDN Library documentation:
