Since the infamous Morris Internet worm virtually brought the Internet to its knees a few years back, there has been much work done to improve security on the Internet. Some of this work has been in the field of new protocols, such as IPSec IPv6, and other work has been done to keep track of new vulnerabilities and disseminate the information to the public. Other hard-working individuals have worked to develop tools that can be used to help secure or check the security of your network or important host computers.
