Pasting Text

After you have copied text from a web page, you can paste it into any app that allows text, such as the Notes or Mail apps. Just like a computer, your iPhone stores copied text in memory called the Clipboard. Once you have a chunk of copied text stored on the clipboard, you can keep pasting that text as many times as you want. But the moment you copy something new to the Clipboard, your old copied text is erased for good.

To paste text you've copied from a web page, do this:

  1. Make sure you have copied text from a web page.

  2. From the Home screen, tap Notes or Mail (or the icon for any other app that lets you store large amounts of text).

  3. Press and hold a fingertip on the area where you want to paste your copied text. The magnifying glass ...
