While the use of Wireshark is one option to measure and troubleshoot the latency for name resolution, there are other tools available to perform similar testing. For example, dig is a CLI-based tool that is available in most Linux distributions. It allows you to trigger a DNS query of any record type and measure the time taken for the resolution.
