I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
IMAP
The normal operation of IMAP is as follows:
- The email client resolves the IP address of the IMAP server:
As shown in the preceding screenshot, the client establishes a TCP connection to port 143 when SSL/TSL is disabled. When SSL is enabled, the TCP session will be established over port 993.
- Once the session is established, the client sends an IMAP capability message requesting the server sends the capabilities supported by the server.
