Partitioning the Workload
In workload partitioning, a certain type of workload is executed on an instance—that is, partitioning allows users who access the same set of data to log on from the same instance. This limits the amount of data shared among the instances and therefore saves resources used for messaging and Cache Fusion data block transfer.
Whether to partition or not to partition? The decision is a fine balance between business needs and system resources conservation. You can save system resources by implementing workload partitioning in an Oracle RAC environment. If the system’s processing resources are being used to their full capacity, partitioning might help.
