Scalability and high availability are the two most significant advantages offered by Oracle RAC. If you were to look up the word scalability on Dictionary.com, you’d see the following definition: “How well a solution to some problem will work when the size of the problem increases.”
A system is said to be “fully scalable” if its response time remains unchanged, whether it serves 1, 100, 1,000, or any other number of users. Consider a real-life example: If the freeways are 100-percent scalable, travel time from point A to point B will always remain the same, whether one car is on the highway or millions of cars.
