ORACLE BACKUP AND RECOVERY
Oracle backup and recovery has become increasingly sophisticated since Oracle 7. Starting with the Enterprise Backup Utility (EBU), and culminating in Oracle’s Recovery Manager (RMAN), Oracle backup and recovery has become a very important topic for Oracle shops that are faced with keeping the Oracle systems continuously available, while at the same time ensuring quality backup and recovery capability.
Chapters 23 through 27 are extracted from Oracle Internals’ experts to discuss some of the in-depth technical nuances of the EBU and RMAN products. With the introduction of Oracle hot backups, Oracle backup and recovery remains one of the most complex and challenging areas of Oracle administration.
