Registering a Metadata Schema

Many applications use metadata and many also hold their metadata in relational databases. Typically, this metadata is updated regularly. A change to the metadata for one application may cause another application using the same metadata to stop working. This is a familiar configuration management problem that its similar to the problem of changing common program code when working in a team. The solution requires a configuration management tool that operates at the level of rows in a database.
