It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

This is one of the most technical areas of Oracle Internals, and also one of the most important to the Oracle professional. The proper configuration of the Oracle SGA and the buffer pools is critical to the performance of any Oracle database.
The Oracle data buffers are especially important.
