SUMMARY
Planning for any project is all about clarifying your goals and mitigating changes and problems
early, before they become more diffi cult to deal with during implementation. The same is true for
SharePoint branding projects. This chapter discussed several steps that you should take before actu-
ally creating your branding to plan for it more effectively.
By performing requirements gathering, creating wireframes, creating realistic design comps, and
nally creating working HTML and CSS, your project will start off on the right foot. With the
plan in place, you are ready to create branding for SharePoint. In the following chapters you will
do exactly that, starting with more basic SharePoint branding and working toward fully branded
SharePoint sites with custom master pages and page layouts. The next chapter introduces SharePoint
Designer 2010, which makes all that possible.
