adjustments will be made to the master page and CSS to create a master page that looks as similar as
possible to the original HTML mockup. In the next chapter, you will complete the Randy’s Waffl es
example by creating page layouts that will be used by the page-level branding.
To begin the example, you need to have a SharePoint Server publishing site with the Starter master
page from this book applied. You can do this by following along with the earlier example in the sec-
tion “Using a Starter Master Page.”
Adding HTML Branding Assets
Because the Starter master page is the blank canvas with which you begin your branding, the
fi rst step is to add the branding assets (the CSS and images) that were already created for Randy’s
Waffl es. These fi les are available with the downloads for Chapter 3. SharePoint Designer 2010 will
be used to create a folder under the Style Library and add the fi les.
1. Open the publishing site that contains Waffles.master in SharePoint Designer 2010.
2. From the Site Objects menu, click the little pushpin icon for All Files, and from the All Files
list in the main window, click Style Library.
3. Create a new folder by clicking Folder from the ribbon, and name the new folder Waffl es.
