colour television

Red, green and blue are known as the three primary
colours of light because by mixing them in suitable pro-
portions it is possible to produce most of the colours that
the eye can perceive. The phosphor used in a colour
television tube has three individual components, one for
each of the primary colours, and they are arranged in a
