7.8 The theory and practice of
reflection plotters
The work involved in the transferring of data from the
radar display to a plotting sheet is both time-consuming
and a potential source of errors and so is a discour-
agement to practical plotting. The advantage of being
able to plot directly on the screen surface was recognised
at a very early stage in the development of radar. As a
result, the anti-parallax reflection plotter was developed.
