The latter can have important consequences in
deciding when it is safe to resume. No longer can it
be assumed that the 'final' apparent motion will be
parallel and equal to the original apparent motion,
as was assumed in Section 7.5.7.
Consider the situation in fog, as set out in Figure 7.16.
If both vessels manoeuvre simultaneously or at nearly
the same time, B as observed from A will move along
the new apparent-motion line (but at the wrong rate,
which is now much slower) and so appear to be going
clear. No longer will B move along
