It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The tuning may drift as the system warms up and to a
lesser extent with the passage of
time.
The setting of the
control should therefore be checked frequently during
the first thirty minutes after switching on and periodi-
cally thereafter.
Where fully automatic tuning is provided (see Sec-
tion 2.5.1.4), a performance check should be carried out
to ensure that optimum tuning is being achieved. The
procedure for carrying this out is described in Sec-
tion 6.5.6.
The warning on the limitations of tuning indicators
set out in Section 6.2.4.2 is equally valid for synthetic
displays.
