Estimation by Statistical Methods
The last estimation technique, statistical methods, is really a family of estimation techniques. This family is generally the most sophisticated, will usually be the most accurate, and (from an end user perspective, surprisingly enough) the easiest to use. Recalling that estimates are made to support decisions, statistical estimation methods are based on having an equation that relates something that is countable at decision time to the factor that the decision is being based on.
