SAP Single-, Dual-, and Separated Stack Installs
During the “define parameters” phase of the installation process, the system will present the Software Units (Usage Types) selection screen. In this screen, single-stack, dual-stack and separated single stack options can be chosen based on the SAP solution architecture. Some SAP solutions are delivered on single-stack systems, some require a dual-stack system, and some are recommended to be installed as separated single-stack systems.
Single-Stack Installation (Example: Portal Installation)
The SAP NetWeaver Portal is a good example of the single-stack install option. Usage types AS Java, EP, and EP Core are chosen, as per Figure 6-3.
