So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Oracle Database Installation
In the context of installing a SAP system underlying Oracle Database software, install (binaries/executables install) is required. This can be done ahead of the time or it can be done during the course of the SAP installation. In this chapter we will cover Oracle installation as part of a SAP install process. However, installing Oracle Database software ahead of time will save time on the SAP install. Regardless of the option chosen, basic installation and patching of Oracle Database is the same. When Oracle Database software is installed, a starter database should not be created, because the SAP install process will create a database for the application and will load data into the tables.
