Process Flow of a Homogeneous System Copy
The process flow in a homogeneous system copy can be divided into three main categories. Each category will be explained in detail in later sections of this chapter:
• Steps executed in the source system (export steps)
• Steps executed in the target system (import steps)
• Steps executed in the target system after the copy (post-copy steps)
System Copy Export Steps
Export steps are carried out in the source system. It is recommended to keep users off the source system while the export steps are executed. It usually takes about one to two hours to complete all the export steps, which are described in the following sections.
