9.13 | Interfacing LED Displays
We know that LEDs are very popular display devices. They are easy to use and give very
bright and pleasing display, which can be viewed equally well from any viewing angle,
unlike LCDs. The only drawback with LED displays is the high amount of current they
need, unlike LCDs, which need very low power. Figure 9.39 shows that a single LED
can be connected to a positive power supply as shown. The value of the current limit-
ing resistor depends on the current rating of the LED. Suppose we need a number of
