One of the biggest benefits in deploying applications with Windows Installer is that you can add keys and values to the Windows Registry on the target machine. You create keys, subkeys, and values by selecting the Application Registry in the Project Assistant and then right-click the desired root key. Finally, add the required key or value. Values are then visible on the right side of the editor. In this way, you have complete control over the Registry so your application can immediately store information onto the target system. The last part of the Project Assistant is all about the user interface of the installer.
