It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Carrying Out Post-Migration Tasks
Windows Easy Transfer saves you a lot of work moving your information from your old computer to your new computer, but there are still a few tasks to be done. Unfortunately, Windows Easy Transfer cannot transfer your programs, so you will need to reinstall them on your new computer. And you need to make sure you got everything you needed or wanted moved over to the new computer.
TIP: A third-party product that you can purchase, Laplink PCMover Professional, can perform the tasks of Windows Easy Transfer, and transfer your programs to you new computer. See the “Alternatives to Windows Easy Transfer” section earlier in this chapter.
