Choosing a Browser
All of the popular web browsers are free, and in the last couple of years the competition has heated up. This competition is good news for computer users, as each browser works hard to come out with better features, performance, and usability.
In addition to this market competition, it's mandatory in some countries that users be offered a choice of which browser to use as the default browser. For example, since March 2010, as part of a settlement between the European Commission and Microsoft, European users of IE and new computer buyers have been presented a Web Browser Choice screen to make it easier to download and install browsers other than IE.
