Sharing Printers on a Home Network
There are several reasons to connect and share printers on a home network. You can:
- Print to a network printer from any computer on the network.
- Place your printer anyplace you have wired or wireless access in your house.
- Reduce printer ink and paper costs by using fewer printers.
See Chapter 13: “Printing, Faxing, and Scanning” to learn how to:
- Choose printers.
- Install printers on your local computer.
- Install and share network printers attached to home servers and network attached storage (NAS).
- Use printers with homegroups in Windows 7, and with File and Printer Sharing in Windows XP and Windows Vista.
