It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Setting Up Your Screen Saver
A screen saver animates your screen with pictures or graphics moving across your screen when your computer is on but idle. A Screen saver serves several purposes.
- It helps safeguard your privacy by hiding what is on your screen when you are away from your desk.
- It can work with your power management settings to reduce power use when your computer is on but inactive.
- It can display a custom message.
- It can display a slide show of your favorite pictures.
Originally one of the main purposes of a screen saver was to prevent what is called burn-in or image persistence. When the image on the screen doesn’t change for a long time, the image can get imprinted so that a ghost of that image remains on the screen forever. ...
