Checking the Security Status of Your Computer

You can check your security status in several ways. You can wait until Windows detects something wrong and displays a notification, or you can check it yourself anytime.

Windows 7 provides several types of security notifications on your desktop.

When you start your computer, you may see a notification pop-up similar to the one displayed in Figure 16–40. The message in Figure 16–40 is a general message that doesn't tell you specifically that there is a security issue.
