Keeping Windows up to date Know the value of updates. Windows operating systems and applications need to be updated regularly with patches, fixes, and other updates. As bugs, vulnerabilities, and performance issues are discovered, Microsoft releases these updates to help keep the operating systems and applications secure and running at their peak performance.
