2.6. Summary

In this chapter, you learned about the many different ways that Windows 7 can be deployed, ranging from High Touch completely manual installations to Lite Touch partly automated installations, to Zero Touch completely automated installations. Windows 7 is deployed using images, and images can easily be modified, captured, and deployed.

Several tools are available to use, and most of them are free. The Windows AIK includes ImageX and DISM, which can be used to service images offline. Windows Deployment Services can be used to multicast a single image to multiple clients, and MDT can be used to provide automation to image deployment.
