In this chapter, you learned about various issues related to software. Most software can be installed directly on Windows 7. If there are any compatibility issues, several solutions are available to resolve them.

It's possible to run the software using one of several virtualization methods. These include Windows XP Mode, Virtual PC, Remote Desktop Services, and Application Virtualization.

If you need to deploy software to multiple systems, Group Policy and SCCM can both be used. Group Policy is free and available in any domain. SCCM is a server product that must be purchased, but it provides several more capabilities such as the ability to schedule and stagger deployments.
